Ingredients

For the Fritters

  • 1 cup dill pickles, chopped The star ingredient!
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded Great way to use leftover chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or your choice for a rich flavor
  • 1 ea egg Binds everything together
  • 1/2 cup flour For structure
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs For that crispy coating
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Adds depth
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder For added flavor
  • Salt and pepper to taste To enhance overall taste
  • Oil for frying Enough for a shallow fry

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine chopped dill pickles, shredded chicken, shredded cheese, egg, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until hot.
  • Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture and shape them into patties, making them uniform for even cooking.
  • Fry each fritter until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure proper frying.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels to get rid of excess oil.
  • Serve hot and enjoy the crunch!

Notes

For best results, make sure the oil is hot enough before adding your fritters; this helps achieve that delicious crunch. These fritters can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, and they reheat well. You can also try an air fryer version or use gluten-free alternatives.
