Ingredients
  

  • 8 all-beef hot dogs
  • 1 tube refrigerated breadstick or crescent dough
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 block sharp cheddar cheese, sliced thick

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Thread each hot dog onto a wooden skewer, leaving about 2 inches exposed at the top.
  • Cut the dough into strips and wrap each hot dog in a spiral pattern from bottom to top.
  • Brush the wrapped hot dogs with beaten egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cut star shapes from thick slices of cheddar cheese using a small cookie cutter.
  • Once slightly cooled, place a cheese star on top of each skewer and serve.

Notes

Soak wooden skewers in water for 10 minutes to prevent burning. Serve with a variety of dipping sauces for a festive presentation.
