Ingredients
  

For the salmon

  • 4 fillets salmon fillets (skin on or off, your choice)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

For the sauce

  • 4 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon)

Preparation

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. It should start to foam but not brown.
  • Carefully add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  • While the garlic is cooking, season both sides of the salmon fillets with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Place the salmon fillets in the pan, skin side down if applicable. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  • Once cooked through, drizzle the salmon with fresh lemon juice right before serving.

Notes

Leftover garlic lemon butter salmon can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container. For longer storage, you may freeze it for up to two months. To reheat, simply warm it in the microwave or on a skillet over medium heat until heated through. Use high heat for crispy skin, add fresh herbs for extra flavor, or prepare in an air fryer for a quicker cooking method.
