Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish to ensure the sweets don’t stick.
  • In a bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, sugar, and melted butter until all ingredients are well integrated.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. This mixture should be smooth and creamy.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt for an even distribution of flavors.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, or the texture might become tough.
  • Add the chocolate chips or your choice of Halloween candies to the mixture and gently fold them in.
  • Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.

Baking

  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once baked, let the sweets cool completely before cutting into squares.
  • Feel free to get creative with decoration—adding sprinkles or frosting can make them extra special!
