  • 6 large large croissants Stale croissants work well.
  • 2 cups diced ham Use leftover ham for more flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Use cheddar, Swiss, or a combination.

For the Egg Mixture

  • 5 large large eggs
  • 1 cup milk Can use a plant-based alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard Adds a touch of zing.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Optional Toppings

  • Fresh parsley or chives For garnish.
  • Additional cheese More on top for an extra cheesy finish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Tear or cut the croissants into large chunks and place them in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Spread the diced ham evenly over the croissants.

Mixing

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Stir in the shredded cheese into the egg mixture.

Assembly

  • Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the croissant and ham, ensuring everything is coated.
  • Gently press down to soak the croissants.

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden-brown on top.

Serving

  • Let the bake sit for about 5 minutes before serving.
  • Sprinkle chopped fresh herbs on top for a touch of color and flavor.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in the microwave or oven. You can freeze the bake before baking; thaw in the fridge overnight before baking.
