This overnight biscuits and gravy casserole brings together soft biscuit pieces, savory halal beef sausage gravy, eggs, and melted cheese in one comforting breakfast bake. It is assembled the night before, so the biscuits soak up the rich gravy and egg mixture, giving you a warm, hearty breakfast with almost no morning effort.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the halal beef sausage in a skillet until browned. Drain all excess grease and set aside.
Cut each biscuit into four small pieces and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle the cooked sausage evenly over the biscuit layer, then add the shredded cheese on top.
Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture evenly over the casserole.
Prepare the peppered gravy mix according to package instructions to make 2 cups. Pour the gravy evenly over the egg mixture.
Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight to allow the biscuits to soak.
In the morning, remove the plastic wrap and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through and the mixture is set.
Remove from the oven and serve warm.
Notes
Letting the casserole rest overnight helps the biscuits absorb the gravy and egg mixture fully. Use flaky biscuits for the best texture. For extra richness, serve with additional warm gravy.
