Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork sausage (breakfast or Italian)
  • 12–15 oz pimento cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • green onions or extra pimentos (optional garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully browned, breaking it into very small crumbles.
  • Drain the cooked sausage thoroughly and pat with paper towels to remove as much grease as possible.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in the cream cheese and pimento cheese.
  • Stir continuously until the cheeses are fully melted and the dip is smooth and creamy.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl or small slow cooker on WARM. Garnish if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

Draining the sausage thoroughly is critical to prevent the dip from becoming greasy or separating.
