Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups water, divided
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or honey/maple syrup)
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (6-8 lemons)
  • 1-2 tsp food-grade activated charcoal powder
  • Lemon slices, fresh mint, or rosemary (for garnish, optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with 1 cup sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until dissolved. Remove from heat and cool.
  • In a large pitcher, combine remaining 7 cups water, lemon juice, and cooled syrup. Stir to blend.
  • Add 1 teaspoon activated charcoal powder. Whisk until fully dissolved and inky black. Adjust with more charcoal if desired.
  • Fill with ice, chill in refrigerator, and serve over more ice. Garnish with lemon slices or herbs.

Notes

⚠️ Always use food-grade activated charcoal. Avoid drinking within a few hours of taking medications, as charcoal may affect absorption. For adults, you can spike it with gin or vodka for a Witchy Cocktail variation.
